School resource materials
Commencing in 1991, Genesis’ purpose is to provide support to girls or women experiencing an unplanned or unsupported pregnancy
.

This support is provided in the form of free pregnancy testing, counselling (telephone or face-to-face), material assistance (cots, prams, bassinet, baby gear), young mums support groups (MummyLink) and “Baby Bundles”, with all new items, to new mums in hospital after delivery. Genesis’ services are currently used by over 30 agencies.

Genesis applied for funds toward resources for their BeReadi preventative educational programme in high schools.

The programme addresses sex/relationships; self-worth; esteem and respect; pornography and social media etiquette in an effort to ward off unwanted teenage pregnancies.

UCF Directors approved a $2,000 grant to Genesis to purchase educational pregnancy models from the USA for use in their school programmes which reach approximately 1500 students in 12 high schools per year.
