Create Impact was founded by two Australians in 2010 to address the poverty levels and lack of access to primary and secondary education in a remote region of central Ethiopia. Rural Ethiopia is considered one of the poorest regions of the world, with 9 out of 10 children living in extreme poverty and half of all children still not in school.

Create Impact’s work on-the-ground is carried out exclusively by local Ethiopian people. The Project Manager in Ethiopia works with communities, woreda leaders and government to identify communities with little or no access to education, clean water and/or health care.

Dymocks Children’s Charities

Tenant Creek Primary School – library regeneration
Dymocks Children’s Charities’ mission is to improve literacy outcomes for Australian children.

The charity was set up in 2000 by John Forsyth, the owner of the Dymocks business to give back to the community in a meaningful way.

Dymocks Children’s Charities provide brand new books of choice to children and schools who need them the most. This helps them start their literacy journey with books they want to read and that are right for their needs. The schools Dymocks help don’t have adequate funding or resources to keep their library up to date and relevant to their students’ needs. Many children they meet also don’t have a single book in their homes so they are proud to help children start their literacy journey at a time when it can have the most impact.
