Thanks for Caring Project – Adelaide
Believe Foundation was set up in 2009 as a result of the experience of the founders, Terry & Di Smith, with a goal of raising funds to provide respite to Carers of those who were affected by mental illness.

As part of their journey, the Thanks for Caring project was initiated in 2013 to acknowledge the role of Carers in our community and to ensure that they also care about their own well-being.

The Believe Foundation accepts applications from Carers, or their nominees, who request assistance in some small way to make Carer’s lives a little easier – e.g. providing a cleaner for a week to a month, a month’s supply of groceries, some personal quality time, vacuum cleaner repairs. The cost for each of these is around $250. It’s all about caring for Carers.

UCF provided a small grant of $1,000 to help Believe Foundation meet these urgent expenses, often from teenage Carers.
